This is a rare plant for collectors!! Edithcolea grandis var. baylissiana stands as the sole species within the Edithcolea genus, a member of the Apocynaceae botanical family. Exhibiting a creeping growth pattern, this perennial, leafless plant features thick, fleshy stems that are quadrangular and pale green with reddish spots, arranged in acute, tooth-shaped tubercles. The baylissiana variety distinguishes itself with shorter, spirally twisted stems, often branching heavily. These succulents can grow up to 10 cm tall and 30 cm wide. Blooming typically occurs in summer, with blossoms emerging at the plant's apex. Bisexual flowers sport a penta-lobed corolla ranging from yellowish to maroon, adorned with reddish spots and marginal hairs. Emitting an odor akin to a carcass, the flowers attract flies for pollination. Fruits take the form of follicles packed with seeds, each oval-shaped and bearing a tuft of hairs.Cutting grown plant will be sent.
